This weekend sees the Dutch 1/8th scale EFRA GP take place at the World famous MACH circuit in Heemstede, close to Amsterdam. Following 2 days of practice on the Thursday and Friday of the event, competitors took to the track on Saturday for qualifying to decide the starting grid for Sunday’s finals. With drivers from Holland, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy and England taking part it was multiple World Championship finalist Mark Green that took the top qualifying spot leading home a Serpent top 4 block out on their home track. In 2nd place was Serpent 966 designer Michael Salven, 2 seconds behind, with Jordy Blok and Jilles Groskamp, who is on a one race deal with the Dutch company, in 3rd and 4th. First of the non direct qualifiers was Motonica racer Robin D’hondt, just ahead of Mugen front man Rick V, with positions 3 to 6 covered by less than a second after 7 minutes. The finals will be run tomorrow and we will bring a full report from the days activities tomorrow evening.

Team Titan have released a semi painted version of their popular Blitz Lola R09 1/8th scale body. Available with a nice flame design on the front of the car in green/blue or yellow/orange, the rear of the body and driver is left clear to allow you express your artistic side, however I’m sure most will end up getting a single colour. The Lola 09 has high rear body mounts, providing lots of rear downforce and they have also added 2 small wings in front of each wheel arch for better steering reaction and downforce. The semi painted versions are only available in 0.9mm thickness.

Shepherd Micro Racing have extended their range of clutch pinions for the Velox competition clutch. The 15T pinion is the right choice for small and tight tracks where a lot of bottom power is needed. H.A.R.D. Racing have once more expanded their current line of setup tools to include a 1/8th scale on road setup system. Precision machined from aluminium plate, and hard coated, this system is similar to previous versions from the company which has the side plate attached to the main plate by the lower side knob. On conventional systems where the 2 plates connect at the top point, sometimes the main plate cannot move freely and it may cause some accuracy problems. Sold in a set of 4, for each corner, they are supplied in a handy carry case and can be assembled and disassembled with ease.

Team Azarashi have shown some early photos of their Womoog body shells designed to fit on both the Hot Bodies Cyclone D4 and the Tamiya TRF501X. As with previous versions of this body, these too will offer high levels of stability and a cool new look and the photos here show the almost final version, with only small modifications needing to be made before the bodies’ release in the near future.
