On March 8-9, the first test of national championship speed 1/10th 200mm was held at the Maia track near the city of Porto.
Saturday was the open practice day and it had a favourable climate with some sun and no rain. Jaime Silva, who had engine running to do, put many laps on his motor and was fine tuning by the end of the afternoon. With many drivers on the track, the afternoon passed quickly. By the end we were satisfied with the set-up we found, which was based on what we had done in October.

The Badlands Challenge sponsored by CML & Proline has been run over the winter months at the Dartford Race Track. The series consisted of 5 rounds with the best 4 to count in which all drivers have to use the controlled tyre being Badlands. DRT as a club has progressed immensely over this last 4 months with a new committee & the Piraterc.com crew as a driving force has really moved forward. With hours of Track work & preparation the club now truly has a great race track. The track is fast & offers many technical & demanding section which keeps you on your toes, & when mastered gives a truly rewarding drive. Over the series several of the other uk teams have been here in force, with most meetings fully booked this has made the series & racing very competitive. As it turned out right to the last round & heat in qualifying before the title was decided.

Following on from the release earlier this month of the Hayato Matsuzaki Cyclone D4 comes another replica from Hot Bodies, this time its the Atsushi Hara Lightning 2 Pro Evo RTR. Created to celebrate Hara’s Japanese National title last year, each of the 20 Limited Edition cars comes pre assembled to Atsushi’s specifications. Featuring a numbered plate, the car sports a pre cut and painted Hara replica body shell and comes with the latest shock absorbers, as well as a full set of tuning springs. It has been fitted with Hara’s choice of 2.4Ghz Futaba Megatech 3PK radio system, BLS-352 steering servo and S9351 to handle the throttle and brakes. To power the car it uses the OS Speed 21VZ Spec AL engine and T-2060 exhaust system and finally to carry all this great equipment to the track, the whole thing is supplied with a large HPI Racing carrier bag which is fitted with wheels and an extendable handle. All of this doesnt come cheap, each of the 20 examples will set you back close to EUR 1,750 and if you want one you’d
better act fast.

Hi.
This time last year I had an idea to bring the racing element to our club so I created TeamDB.
I wanted a race series for the newbie’s in racing. . My aim was to make it fun and educational for all involved, after putting it on the back burner until I had more information and response from members it’s back.
Behind the scenes we have been very busy since the end of last summer season trying to work-out the best way to keep you guys happy in your racing, we have looked at many tracks and what they have to offer and also we wanted to keep the running of your cars as low as possible, we have looked into running at 3 / 4 tracks or maybe just 1 and maybe using a controlled tyre.
After alot of good feedback on when this should start and where you would like to go we have come up with this.

The 2008 summer series will be held at Novarossi Raceway.
We will be running two classes. . Truggy and Rally X (due to track rules you can run both classes if you wish BUT you have to have make sure 100% that you have someone as a replacement to marshal if your marshal point is not filled you will not be allowed to race)
There will be 8 rounds of which 6 scoring rounds will count towards your points total.
There will be trophies for the top 3 in both classes.
There will be medals/certificates for the top 3 in both classes on the day.
This championship is only open to Doverbashers members.
You will require BRCA and Full Doverbashers membership and the cost is £10 per round For 1 Class or £16 for both classes to be paid to a Doverbashers official at the start of each race day
